The Dilemma: "gay comment" will remain in movie despite hypocritical outrage

Democrats want to have it both way on the use of the word "gay." They don't want the word gay used in a non-homosexual way, even in movies (Vince Vaghn "Electric Cars Are Gay" Joke Pulled from 'The Dilemma' Trailer Because Of "Teabagger" Anderson Cooper):
But they have no problem hurling the word as an insult at conservatives like Andrew Breitbart (Democrats hypocritically use 'gay' slur). After all the hypocritical moral indignation, the comment will remain in the flick. From The Detroit Free Press: Ron Howard says gay comment will remain

Ron Howard's upcoming film "The Dilemma," doesn't hit theaters until Jan. 14, but it's already stirred up quite a bit of controversy.

After a number of suicides of gay youths in September, CNN's Anderson Cooper criticized a trailer for the film in which Vince Vaughn says, "Electric cars are gay."
The same Anderson Cooper that popularized the homosexual slur "teabagger" against tea party protesters.
The joke was removed from trailers but Universal confirmed to the L.A. Times that the joke will remain in the movie, a decision that is being criticized by GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and in the Times blog the Big Picture.
Not long ago I recall Jay Leno having a segment where he was accused of "being so gay" repeatedly by a phone caller. He doesn't do that anymore, but I sure don't remember a public controversy like the one for this flick.
